are following a deadly accident in redwood city. jackie sissel is live at the scene of the crash. we're pretty much in the heat of a commute at 68 am. does this seem to be affecting traffic at all? >> it is not really affecting traffic. there are several businesses in this area that the workers will be affected by. you could see the roadway on east bayshore remains closed. you can see police officers are still in the area investigating this fatal car accident that happened several hours ago. i don't think it will have much affect on 1 01 or traffic necessarily in that area. you could see some workers are being forced to walk down to their job. this happened earlier this morning when a single car driving down east bayshore lost control, i had a fire hydrant. a person inside the car was ejected and pronounced dead at the same. the car continued driving without a driver and it and ultimately crashed into a storage unit facility. not a lot of information on what caused the accident at this point daria. as they alert has been issued and 1 01 is just on the other side of those drums right there. ott

out each day for the 7:50 and 8:20 runs to the city carrying 5,300 passenger as day but parking is limited to only 1,800 spaces and they sell out fast. the parking is free but the district could consider charging to park using the fees to build a parking structure or parking deal with businesses. the district also floating the idea of adding another boat during high commuter times. it is positive dilemma but the bridge district says it needs to do something and fast. a decision could be made here in the next couple of months. we are live in larkspur this morning for abc7. >> supporters of an effort to rename san francisco international airport in honor of harvey milk will hold a rally at city hall. last month, san francisco supervisor introduced legislation to rename the airport harvey milk san francisco international. he was california's first openly gay elected official. he was assassinated along with mayor moscone in 1978. organizers say the rally is to urge the other supervisors who support the legislation. voter could decide on the name change in november. >> a top boeing o

city college where student protesters have just wrapped up talks after spending the night inside a campus building. we will tell you what they are fighting for next. >> complete bay area news coverage starts right now. >> good morning. welcome to mornings on two. >> it's friday, february 22nd. developing news from san jose. police are searching for a hit and run driver they say crashed into a bus. matt keller is live from the scene to talk about what happened. >> reporter: good morning. in just the past couple minutes we watched as a tow truck came and hooked up to the vta bus. you can see there is a lot of damage done to the front right wheel and passenger entrance. police say this was a hit and run. car ran a red light here and smashed into the bus. 13 passengers were on the bus. one was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. >> 13 passengers didn't have any injuries which is great. we are glad for that and they were able to go onto their destination on the next bus. >> reporter: police say the driver of the car took off after the crash. we are told the car was damaged

accident in redwood city. she is on east bay shore road with more on what investigators are saying about what happened. >> well, this is the 1700 block of bay shore road right next to highway 101. let me give you a look at the scene because we had a lot of activity within the last 20 minutes or so. you can see all the way down there folks in reflective vests. that's the coroner that just arrived on scene just minutes ago. a mobile command unit with redwood city also is now here parked on the other end of this area because this is a very big accident scene. one vehicle involved in this. one person is dead. let me show you where the car ended up. it's right around the corner from where we are. it ended up in front of a public storage facility. it's about the length of a football field according to police i talked to this morning. it happened around 2:20. from what they can tell at this point, the driver was coming down bay shore road, hit a fire hydrant for some unknown reason, was ejected from the car and then, at that point, the car just continued to spin down the road a fair distance an
